In continuing to highlight the incredible women here at Nano-Yield™ for Women’s History Month, we are going to showcase the ladies from the finance and international teams. They both have brought so much talent to the company and we couldn’t be happier to have them here. Please enjoy in their own words a little bit about themselves.

Kelly Duffin: Administrative Director

I am married to my best friend, partner, plus one, travel and adventure companion - he checks all the boxes. This year we will celebrate 35 years together and I've never been happier.  We love to travel, kayak, hike, bike, camp, exploring new places, and getting outside. We have two amazing boys.  They booth live in the SL valley. My oldest son is a process engineer/CNC programmer and machinist for Triumph Aerospace. My youngest boy also works in agriculture. He got his Plant and Soils degree from USU and is working for BioGrass Sod Farms helping make outdoor space user and environmentally friendly. I couldn't be more proud of them both. My favorite things I love to do with my kids are dinners, BBQ's, pizza nights, camping, and vacationing.

My hobbies include skiing, yoga, hiking, my kitty Cosmo, walking with friends, supporting other women, connection and growth, dabbling in astrology, and exploring southern Utah. National Parks and retreats being a couple of my favs. Always up for travel and adventure whether it's another country or my own backyard.

The wheel of life is my education. Having great mentors, leaders, bosses and friends over the years have taught me so much. Learning, reading, and hands is my greatest education.

Why do I love being in Ag? I love learning and seeing how the world gets fed. I think most of us don't understand what happens behind the scenes to get the food on the table. Working for a company that is helping get the most out of the nutrients we use in order to feed in such mass quantities and that also adds to the sustainability of our planet and people is a bonus.

Any women I look to and why? I didn't grow up with many women around me. I had a brother, three uncles, boy cousins, and no daughters but my mom was a sure constant and was always there. She was and is an amazing grandma to my kids and played a huge role in their childhood. She is loving, caring, always shows up and would do anything for anyone. Also women like Susan B. Anthony and Mother Theresa who have shown us what it looks like to love unconditionally or give a voice for women and our rights are inspiring beyond words.

Maia Badaroux: Project Manager for Nano-Yield International

I met my husband, Hernan, 23 years ago. We got married, and we have a beloved 10-year-old daughter, Catalina, who was born when we were living in Brazil. We enjoy traveling, learning about other cultures, and making friends worldwide. A fun fact about us is we have visited 20+ countries so far and we speak three languages. During weekends, I enjoy playing soccer outdoors with my daughter, doing puzzles, and reading books when it rains. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree as an Agronomist Engineer and a postgraduate certificate as an Ontological Coach. I'm currently an MBA candidate at Kansas State University.

I grew up on a farm in the countryside of Argentina. I watched how my father worked in the field and it has taught me about hard work, responsibilities, and how our decisions affect crops, animals, and the impact we have on the environment. Since then, I have known I wanted to work on Ag, which makes a difference in our daily lives and can create a better future. As I age, I couldn’t be happier with my decision. My husband is also an agronomist with a Ph.D. and works in agriculture as well, so we share the same passion. Let's see what Catalina wants to do!

The woman who inspires me is Marie Curie, the first woman to win two Nobel prizes due to the discovery of radioactivity.  She was not only a brilliant scientist but also a great woman who had to overcome many obstacles before achieving her goals.
