5 Ways Nanotechnology Is Transforming Crop Nutrient Delivery

We get asked all the time, “What is nanotechnology and how does it work?”

While the answer may seem complex, it’s actually quite simple. Let’s touch on five main ways that nanotechnology is transforming crop nutrient delivery, although there are many more.

What is Nanotechnology?

Nano-Yield® uses patented nanotechnology in all of our products. Nanotechnology serves as our delivery system for crop inputs.

But what does this mean? Nanoparticles are incredibly small—between 10 and 100 nanometers. That’s smaller than a virus! Their small size allows them to enter plant cells through endocytosis, instead of diffusion or active transport, which are the methods competing products typically use.

Nanotechnology in Action: How It’s Transforming Crop Nutrient Delivery

Smaller Particles, Bigger Impact

  • Nanoparticles are manufactured at the nanoscale in a specific way to create a new mode of action for crop delivery.
  • Their unique size creates advanced properties that enable them to carry and deliver more fertilizer into the crop, increasing yield potential.

Improved Nutrient Availability

  • Nano-Yield® products help ensure that nutrients are available during critical growth stages and stressful times.
  • Nanoparticles protect nutrients from environmental losses like leaching and volatilization while also helping prevent soil tie-up.

Enhanced Plant Absorption

  • Nano-Yield® products offer a unique mode of action called endocytosis, which is unique to nanotechnology. This additional mode of action results in better plant uptake of anything in your tank mix.
  • Nanoparticles maximize the effectiveness of all applications, including fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, PGRs, and more.

More Efficient Input Programs

  • Nano-Yield® products are compatible and easy to add at a low rate of 4 oz/acre. Simply add them to the tank and maximize the performance of the products you're already applying.
  • We have products for organic farming, dry fertilizer, additives, and more.

Proven Agronomic and Economic Results

  • Achieve healthier crops, improved nutrient efficiency, stronger yield potential, and a better ROI with Nano-Yield®.
  • Unlike other additives in the market, Nano-Yield® products are backed by replicated data and are also Beck’s PFR Proven™.

Proven Results for Under $5/Acre

We've all encountered products that promise big results but fail to deliver—but that's NOT the case with Nano-Yield®.

  • NanoPro® increases active ingredient absorption by up to 20%.
  • NanoN™ and NanoPro® can provide growers with up to a 3:1 ROI
  • NanoCote® reduces dry fertilizer dust by up to 99%.

Nano-Yield® would like to congratulate Joel Mahin on his recent promotion to Director of Central Region Sales. Joel’s extensive background in agriculture has given him the valuable knowledge that he brings to work every day. He has experience in production, retail, distribution, agronomy, product development, and sales. As he completes his third sales season at Nano-Yield®, Joel continues to exceed expectations and contribute to the overall growth and success of his distributors, dealers, and growers. Joel started at Nano-Yield® as a Regional Sales Manager, covering Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. While these states remain part of his territory, Joel is now stepping into the role of Director of Central Region Sales. He will serve as a manager to Regional Sales Managers who cover the Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas regions. Joel said that bringing affordable products that work to the market is what motivates him every day. He wants to help growers succeed while contributing to the growth of his distributors and dealers. Joel hopes to pass on his knowledge and view of the business to the next generation. He said that the thing he enjoys the most about working for Nano-Yield® is the family atmosphere. When asked about his new role, Joel said the following: “I relish the challenge. I’m not done growing in Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. I want to take the model that I started in those three states and spread it to the other areas. There’s still room to grow — we’re not done yet.” Joel is known for his positive attitude, contagious energy, and ability to motivate others around him. When Joel is around, his peers know it’s going to be a fun and successful day. Mark Mitchell, Nano-Yield® Director of Sales U.S., said, “Joel earned this promotion through hard work, excellent sales numbers, and his team respects him and they trust him.” He added that Joel truly cares about his customers. He is a great team player, works well with others, and knows how to get the most out of his team. He’s selfless and all about Nano-Yield®. Landon Bunderson, Nano-Yield® CSO, said, “Joel always leads by example. He sets the tone for how to treat a customer and how to be successful.” We look forward to seeing what Joel accomplishes in his new role and are excited for the years to come. From everyone at Nano-Yield®, congratulations, Joel!
