Draper, UT — In a clear commitment to research and development and expansion in its sales force and marketing team, Aqua-Yield® announced the hirings of four outstanding individuals. The announcement was made by Clark Bell, Aqua-Yield CEO and co-founder and includes the following individuals:

  • David Porter, Regional Sales Manager - Belleview, FL
  • Keegan Cherry , Regional Sales Manager - Cicero, IN
  • Jenny Phillips , Director of Marketing - Logan, OH

Jenny Phillips

“We could not be more pleased with the integrity, commitment to purpose and dedication to agriculture exhibited by each of these individuals,” says Mr. Bell. “These additions to our existing staff indicate to farmers and all of agriculture that Aqua-Yield is aggressively ready to move into the future with both our ever-increasing nano-based product line and our commitment to partnering with all clients in supplying superior product through our Nano-Shield® delivery technology, while addressing every question or situation that may arise.”

Dr. Christopher Hendrikson knows this is a critical time for agriculture and that research and development will play a pivotal role. “Farmers and horticulturalists are being asked, or outright required to do more with less. Our technology directly addresses these challenges,” he says. “My primary opportunity with Aqua-Yield is to highlight new perspectives and possibilities of existing AY technologies, and build new technologies that advance Aqua-Yield objectives toward our stakeholders.”

Jenny Phillips will direct Aqua-Yield’s marketing focus. “Our basic survival needs start with what farmers help provide to us”, she says. “I grew up in the big city of Cleveland, Ohio. It wasn't until I was an adult and started working in agriculture that I gained an appreciation and admiration for growers around the country.” She added, “I see my primary role with Aqua-Yield as an agricultural and brand advocate; I am here to help educate growers and get the word out on this exciting new technology through digital media.”

Cherry and Porter will add diversity, drive and overall agricultural acumen to a growing Aqua-Yield sales force. Aqua-Yield is thrilled to have both men join the team. “My role is to bring the innovative Nano-Shield® technology delivery in our product to growers and channel partners throughout the southeastern United States,” says David Porter. “ Farmers are the original stewards of the land. Aqua-Yield’s tech stack helps them maximize efficiencies in both fertility and crop protection applications. This increase in efficiency helps the farmer not only save time and money but also helps the environment by reducing the excess crop inputs.”

And finally, from Keegan Cherry. “My goal is to help the farmer be more profitable by managing risk and being more efficient in a sustainable manner. As a technology company in agriculture, Aqua-Yield has the people and products that can deliver on this goal.” He added, “Aqua-Yield and its proprietary nano-technology positively influences agriculture right now because the company is uniquely positioned to help our customers drive yield potential and mitigate stress throughout the growing season - all while delivering a positive ROI for the operation. In addition, Aqua-Yield and our products help growers reach their goals through sustainable Ag practices that are beneficial for the soil, plant and environment. More environmentally friendly farming techniques offset climate challenges and protect local ecological systems while securing the food and water supply. To me, that’s at AY’s core."

Mr. Bell added: ”Our employees are simply outstanding and our product continue to change the way famers approach the feeding of their crops. The Aqua-Yield technology gets the most out of every acre, while using less and yielding more. Our dedication to having the most qualified people at Aqua-Yield ensures the best product and services to our clientele and specifically to the nation’s and the nation’s growers."

Aqua-Yield is a nanobiologicals company. Our liquid nano delivery system and inputs help growers sustainably grow their profits by solving their plant absorption problems. Growers can add Nano-Shield, our nanotechnology encapsulation and delivery system to their tanks and yield better-quality, faster-growing crops and healthier soils with less cost and inputs. And they can apply our pre-mixed liquid nanofertilizers to give plants instant access to the nutrition and protection needed to thrive. Specialty and commodity growers nationwide have proven that both options work on their own fields.Whatever you grow, your pro-gram will perform better with our products, guaranteed.

Huge issue in the farming community and we need to have more resources for suicide prevention.
By Brooke Rosqvist, Marketing Manager 14 May, 2024
Farming often carries a heavy burden of stress and isolation. Studies consistently reveal that farmer suicide rates are alarmingly higher, ranging from 2 to 5 times the national average. Farmers face unique challenges—from natural disasters to financial uncertainties— all taking a toll on their mental health. It's time to stop the stigma surrounding mental wellness in agriculture and extend a hand to those who need support. After all, the future of agriculture depends on the well-being of its stewards. Why Farmers are at Risk: In rural communities, the taboo to start a conversation around mental health stifles and prevents those in need from seeking help. There's a common misconception that admitting to struggles is a sign of weakness, rather than a testament to human resilience. The pressures of financial instability, unpredictable weather, and the relentless demands of farming increases stress levels. When left unaddressed, this chronic stress can spiral into depression, enveloping individuals who contribute so much to our society. Signs Someone May Be Struggling: Recognizing the signs of mental health challenges is crucial for intervention. Changes in their behavior, withdrawal from their social interactions, increased accidents on the farm, neglect of animals, and a decline in personal appearance or farm upkeep can all indicate someone is struggling. By staying vigilant and observant, we can extend a helping hand to those in need. Ways to Take Action: It's not enough to encourage struggling farmers to seek help; we must also empower their loved ones to initiate conversations about mental health. Simple gestures like regular check-ins, offering assistance with farm tasks, or providing a listening ear can make a world of difference. These small acts of compassion can break through the walls of isolation and offer a glimmer of hope. Breaking the Stigma: Invite ways to have open dialogue and foster conversations about mental health within your farming communities. We can challenge misconceptions and pave the way for acceptance and support. As James Dixon of the Arkansas Farm Bureau aptly stated, “seeking help is an act of strength, not weakness”. It is this act of strength that saved his own life. Let's redefine resilience as the courage to ask for help when it's needed most. Conclusion: Together, we have the power to transform farming culture into one that prioritizes mental wellness. Let's remain vigilant for signs of distress among our friends, families, and colleagues and have the courage to speak up. By extending compassion and support, we sow the seeds for a healthier, more resilient agricultural community.
