Innovative ag dealers from all over the country gather for the big event by Aqua-Yield®

Big things are happening for our “nano” company, and the excitement and passion for helping growers nationwide with our new technology is highly contagious. November 15-17 was our 2nd Annual NanoCon located in Salt Lake City, where current and future dealers of Aqua-Yield® nanoliquids gathered to learn more about the technology and some of our latest developments.


NanoCon first began with a reception Monday night in which dealers had a chance to mingle with fellow innovators and Aqua-Yield® employees. Tuesday morning began with the Pledge of Allegiance by City of South Jordan Mayor Dawn Ramsey, followed by a moment of silence for our friend and employee David Porter that had passed the week prior . The day was full of educational presentations, a dealer panel, and awards. Wednesday was “fun day” in which attendees could venture out on a tour of Park City and/or visit the new Aqua-Yield hub located in Sandy.


The excitement among dealers and employees has energized everyone for another year of rapid growth and education, especially as everyone prepares for the new product launches. With our recent news of becoming a USDA and EPA Winner of the Next Gen Fertilizer Innovations Challenge , growers are encouraged by the benefits our products have to offer, especially during this time of economic turmoil.

Omni Crop Care

Aqua-Yield® was excited to announce the launch of Omni Crop Care. The Model Dealer of the Year exemplifies what it takes to be a successful Aqua-Yield Dealer. This award is based on actions, not volume. A model dealer is one that actively promotes the Aqua-Yield brands, provides marketing access for testimonials and promotes Aqua-Yield outside of their normal footprint by adding sub-dealers and other influencers. The Model Dealer is team driven; the promotion of Aqua-Yield is companywide with Aqua-Yield being a key focal point of the dealer’s overall growth strategy. 

New Dealer of the Year:
Texas Earth Inc. of Lubbock, Texas

This award is presented to a results driven dealer who recently began their journey with Aqua-Yield. Customers in this segment are new to nanoliquid and are currently developing their sales strategy for positioning Aqua-Yield.  The New Dealer of the Year candidates work closely with Aqua-Yield sales, technical, and operational support, creating a true partnership. 

Brand Champion:
Erickson Custom Operations of Colgate, ND

The Brand Champion award is given to the dealer that consistently and constantly creates a successful brand experience for their customers. They seek to continually build a better brand experience, making content work hard for them through strategic exposure. Brand Champions measure their success by tracking and following up on leads created from all their efforts.   


Nanoliquid Champion:
Seacole Specialty Chemical, Plymouth, MN

Sound agronomy, flawless recommendations, and persistent thought leadership are traits that exude from a Nanoliquid Champion. Nanoliquid Champions continually search for new uses of nanoliquids and consistently position nanoliquid products into successful customer experiences. A Nanoliquid Champion is the “tip of the spear” in positioning Aqua-Yield products in the best case-scenario for crop performance, crop health, and soil health. This award will be received with pride from the winner knowing their efforts and challenging work have been recognized.

Nano Innovator: Finn Telles

Finn has a “knack” for using social media to promote Aqua-Yield® nanoliquids, promoting the partnership between Penny Newman Grain Company and Aqua-Yield®. Finn also knows the customer base throughout the central valley of California, successfully identifying and targeting the right growers for nanoliquids. Finn’s innovative social media posts showcasing enhanced strawberry development in CA with nanoliquids has attracted attention across the country. Finn is a great promoter of the Aqua-Yield® brand.

Nano Innovator: Dennis Butcher

Dennis has vision: vision on how to make good products and recommendations better. Dennis is not content with status-quo. After conducting thorough trials on a variety of crops in the central valley, Dennis has learned how to successfully incorporate nanoliquids into Penny Newman Farm Products proprietary blends. Dennis works hard at collecting data, utilizing SAP and soil samples and he positions winning blends of nanoliquids with other fertilizers for his customers. The results speak for themselves. Dennis is a true innovator.  

Nano Innovator: Don Gibson

Don has a strong commitment to regenerative farming and to soil health. Don makes recommendations based on gathering facts and positioning products that will consistently provide his customers with a rewarding experience. Naturally curious, Don always looks for new methods to help his growers where Aqua-Yield® nanoliquids have been a mainstay for the past few years. Successfully deploying NanoK® on corn, Don has helped Aqua-Yield® improve NanoK® recommendation and is truly outstanding in his field.

Nano-Yield® would like to congratulate Joel Mahin on his recent promotion to Director of Central Region Sales. Joel’s extensive background in agriculture has given him the valuable knowledge that he brings to work every day. He has experience in production, retail, distribution, agronomy, product development, and sales. As he completes his third sales season at Nano-Yield®, Joel continues to exceed expectations and contribute to the overall growth and success of his distributors, dealers, and growers. Joel started at Nano-Yield® as a Regional Sales Manager, covering Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. While these states remain part of his territory, Joel is now stepping into the role of Director of Central Region Sales. He will serve as a manager to Regional Sales Managers who cover the Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas regions. Joel said that bringing affordable products that work to the market is what motivates him every day. He wants to help growers succeed while contributing to the growth of his distributors and dealers. Joel hopes to pass on his knowledge and view of the business to the next generation. He said that the thing he enjoys the most about working for Nano-Yield® is the family atmosphere. When asked about his new role, Joel said the following: “I relish the challenge. I’m not done growing in Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. I want to take the model that I started in those three states and spread it to the other areas. There’s still room to grow — we’re not done yet.” Joel is known for his positive attitude, contagious energy, and ability to motivate others around him. When Joel is around, his peers know it’s going to be a fun and successful day. Mark Mitchell, Nano-Yield® Director of Sales U.S., said, “Joel earned this promotion through hard work, excellent sales numbers, and his team respects him and they trust him.” He added that Joel truly cares about his customers. He is a great team player, works well with others, and knows how to get the most out of his team. He’s selfless and all about Nano-Yield®. Landon Bunderson, Nano-Yield® CSO, said, “Joel always leads by example. He sets the tone for how to treat a customer and how to be successful.” We look forward to seeing what Joel accomplishes in his new role and are excited for the years to come.
