In agriculture, time is precious — every season, every input, every decision counts. That’s why Nano-Yield created the Nano-Yield Podcast, a platform dedicated to helping farmers, agronomists, and industry leaders grow smarter by understanding the real science behind nanotechnology in agriculture.

Each episode brings together voices from Nano-Yield’s leadership team — including our CEO, Chief Science Officer, and Director of R&D — to discuss the science, the challenges, and the breakthroughs that are shaping the future of farming.

Why the Nano-Yield Podcast?

Farmers today face more challenges than ever: high input costs, volatile markets, regulatory pressure, and the need to grow more with less. At the same time, new technologies are constantly flooding the marketplace, often with more marketing buzz than real results.

The Nano-Yield Podcast cuts through the noise. Listeners get honest conversations about:

  • The science behind nanotechnology in agriculture — what it is, what it isn’t, and why size really does matter when it comes to efficiency.

  • What it takes to “do nano right” — from over a decade of trial, error, and innovation at Nano-Yield.

  • How to separate science from speculation when evaluating products that make “nano” claims.

  • The role of patents and innovation in keeping farmers protected from unproven copycats.

  • Real-world benefits for growers — from higher nutrient efficiency and reduced inputs to better ROI across millions of acres.

Key Takeaways from the First Episode

The opening episode sets the stage by tackling big questions:

  • How did Nano-Yield become the leader in agricultural nanotechnology?
By being first to market, but more importantly, by continuously proving the technology in both the lab and the field for nearly 12 years.

  • What does it take to do nanotechnology right?
Patience, capital, and a willingness to make mistakes on the way to innovation. True nanotech isn’t a buzzword — it’s chemistry and physics done with precision.

  • What should you look for when companies make “nano” claims?
True nanoparticles measure between 1–100 nanometers. If a product doesn’t prove that, it’s not nanotechnology — no matter what the label says.

  • Why should nanotechnology be in every tank, every pass?
Because no farmer is getting 100% efficiency out of their inputs. Nano-Yield’s technology helps protect and deliver nutrients, improving efficiency while reducing waste, salt stress, and environmental impact.

Making Complex Science Simple

What surprises people most about Nano-Yield’s technology? Its simplicity.

Despite sounding like something out of a physics lab, Nano-Yield products are farmer-friendly:

  • Easy to handle (just pour and mix).

  • Affordable and proven to deliver ROI.

  • Backed by over a decade of research and real-world use on more than 12 million acres.

As one grower put it: “I’ve been farming the same field for 50 years, and I’ve never had a yield like that until I tried Nano-Yield.”

Why Listen?

Whether you’re a grower, agronomist, blender, or industry professional, the Nano-Yield Podcast is your chance to:

  • Stay informed about the latest in nanotechnology for agriculture.

  • Hear directly from the scientists and leaders behind Nano-Yield.

  • Get practical insights that can help maximize efficiency, protect your inputs, and boost ROI.

Nano-Yield® would like to congratulate Joel Mahin on his recent promotion to Director of Central Region Sales. Joel’s extensive background in agriculture has given him the valuable knowledge that he brings to work every day. He has experience in production, retail, distribution, agronomy, product development, and sales. As he completes his third sales season at Nano-Yield®, Joel continues to exceed expectations and contribute to the overall growth and success of his distributors, dealers, and growers. Joel started at Nano-Yield® as a Regional Sales Manager, covering Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. While these states remain part of his territory, Joel is now stepping into the role of Director of Central Region Sales. He will serve as a manager to Regional Sales Managers who cover the Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas regions. Joel said that bringing affordable products that work to the market is what motivates him every day. He wants to help growers succeed while contributing to the growth of his distributors and dealers. Joel hopes to pass on his knowledge and view of the business to the next generation. He said that the thing he enjoys the most about working for Nano-Yield® is the family atmosphere. When asked about his new role, Joel said the following: “I relish the challenge. I’m not done growing in Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. I want to take the model that I started in those three states and spread it to the other areas. There’s still room to grow — we’re not done yet.” Joel is known for his positive attitude, contagious energy, and ability to motivate others around him. When Joel is around, his peers know it’s going to be a fun and successful day. Mark Mitchell, Nano-Yield® Director of Sales U.S., said, “Joel earned this promotion through hard work, excellent sales numbers, and his team respects him and they trust him.” He added that Joel truly cares about his customers. He is a great team player, works well with others, and knows how to get the most out of his team. He’s selfless and all about Nano-Yield®. Landon Bunderson, Nano-Yield® CSO, said, “Joel always leads by example. He sets the tone for how to treat a customer and how to be successful.” We look forward to seeing what Joel accomplishes in his new role and are excited for the years to come. From everyone at Nano-Yield®, congratulations, Joel!
