Season-Long Trials at Cordova Bay Golf Course

At Cordova Bay Golf Course, excellence in turf management is more than a goal; it's a commitment. This commitment led us to trial Nano-Yield's innovative product, NanoCharge™, a product by Turf NanoTech™, during the summer of 2023. Our aim was to enhance our fairways' health and resilience, particularly against Dollar Spot disease, while maintaining overall turf quality. Here, we provide an in-depth analysis of our findings from this trial and explore how NanoCharge could revolutionize turf management practices.

The trial, conducted over five months from May to September 2023, covered twenty acres of our fairways. NanoCharge was applied at an 8-ounce rate per acre. We maintained our regular bi-weekly nutrition spray schedule, utilizing a GPS sprayer for pinpoint accuracy. The right halves of fairways one and two served as control areas, receiving only the standard nutrition, while the remainder of the fairways received the additional NanoCharge treatment.

Throughout the summer, both the control and treated fairways exhibited excellent turf health, reflecting the reliability of our existing fertility program. Notably, there were no significant differences in clipping yield between the control areas and those treated with NanoCharge. However, the most significant finding emerged just before Labor Day Weekend when a major outbreak of Dollar Spot disease occurred in the control halves of fairways one and two. In stark contrast, the NanoCharge-treated areas displayed minimal, if any, signs of the disease. This suggests a significant enhancement in disease resistance due to NanoCharge.

The trial demonstrated NanoCharge's potential as a powerful tool for disease suppression. Dollar Spot, a common and challenging turf disease, was effectively minimized in treated areas, indicating that NanoCharge could reduce the need for frequent fungicide applications, thereby lowering maintenance costs and environmental impact. While overall turf health was comparable between the control and treated areas, the enhanced disease resistance points to improved nutrient uptake and efficiency in the NanoCharge-treated sections. This implies that NanoCharge may optimize the effectiveness of applied fertilizers, promoting healthier turf even under stressful conditions.

The trial results align perfectly with Turf NanoTech’s slogan of Get Charged! NanoCharge not only charged our fairways with enhanced disease resistance but also demonstrated the product's potential to maintain high turf quality with less chemical intervention. This dual benefit of boosting resilience and promoting sustainable turf management practices is a game-changer for golf courses aiming for excellence.

The summer 2023 trial of Nano-Yield's NanoCharge at Cordova Bay Golf Course provided valuable insights into the product's efficacy. The clear improvement in disease resistance, coupled with consistent overall turf health, highlights NanoCharge as a promising addition to our turf management arsenal. As we continue to strive for the highest standards in golf course maintenance, incorporating innovative solutions like NanoCharge will undoubtedly play a crucial role.
