Aqua-Yield® is proud to be part of the product line up for one of the largest agricultural suppliers in the northwest.

Skagit Farmers Supply was founded by farmers in 1934 as a way of supplying fuel for their farms. Today the cooperative has grown and evolved to support agriculture through several business units including retail stores, agronomy, energy and wholesale distribution. Skagit Farmers Supply stives to stay true to their original values of Customer Commitment, People, Integrity, Performance, Quality, Safety & Community.

Skagit Farmers Supply is always looking for fertilizer solutions that will enhance nutrient uptake and efficiency to maximize the grower’s dollars. Jon Jarvis, Agronomist for Skagit Farmers Supply, stated that “The writing is on the wall when it comes to applying fertilizer and regulations. We try to be on the forefront by finding products that will help maximize fertility, especially with high dollar crops.”

The nanoliquid technology provided by Aqua-Yield has created excitement as growers have been thrilled by what they are seeing. Jarvis states, “We always have that percentage of progressive growers that are willing to try new products. The results have been extremely impressive, both with yields and their response to fungicides. Once they’ve seen how nanotechnology works they are impressed. It’s been really good. In general growers are sometimes not very receptive to change but so far their response has been very positive so far.”

Jeff Howe, now Aqua-Yield Regional Manager for the PNW, was a former Agronomist for Skagit Farmers Supply. Howe speaks about his ongoing relationship with both companies: “Summer of 2019 I was working for Skagit Farmers Supply in the role of Agronomy Manager when I first met Clark Bell (CEO and cofounder, Aqua-Yield) and Mark Mitchell (Wholesale Accounts, Aqua-Yield) at an Ag show in Las Vegas, where they introduced me to Aqua-Yield nanoliquid technology. The following spring Skagit Farmers Supply sales staff incorporated Aqua-Yield NanoPro® into herbicide applications and I was quite impressed of how well it improved efficacy of herbicides on hard to control weeds. I was a Fieldman 15 years for Skagit Farmers Supply before becoming Agronomy manager in 2015 and I had some growers I still worked with that recognized the concept and efficiencies of nanoliquid technology. We incorporated NanoPro with ag chem and nano fertility products into their programs and the results were phenomenal. I was so impressed with Aqua-Yield nanoliquid technology I wanted to be a part of their success and asked Clark and Warren Bell (Sales and cofounder, Aqua-Yield) if I could work for Aqua-Yield.”

Skagit Farmers Supply offers the entire line of nanotechnology fertility and the crop protection enhancer product, but one product in particular stands out to Jarvis. “NanoPro® has a great price-point and is very easy to try with growers. Nobody complains about a good kill. It gets your foot in the door to also sell nanoliquid fertility.” NanoPro® can be added to any spray mixture to enhance plant uptake of specialty and generic crop protection products. The product is field tested and grower approved to advance the way growers manage crops and control weeds.

Jarvis said that he’s noticed the best response with cucurbits and pumpkins: crops that don’t scavenge nutrients as well so the nanoliquids really help. He’s seen a lot of growers have success with side dressing 32-0-0 with NanoN+™. This year growers are also trialing the new NanoCS™ crop starter. The nanoliquid crop starter enhancer NanoCS is a robust combination of patented nanoliquid technology, balanced NPK, zinc, and biostimulant in one easy to use product. Our patented nanoliquid technology delivers essential nutrients into the seed for rapid germination and growth.

Overall, Skagit Farmers Supply is thrilled with the products and support they receive from Aqua-Yield®. “The people and support have been great. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. We are really excited to see the performance of the wheat and alfalfa nanoliquid seed trials this year and to continue to get more growers on board.”

Howe is thrilled to continue his relationship with his former employer while promoting one of his favorite products: “I am very fortunate to work with Skagit Farmers Supply agronomy staff who understand how important it is to be out in front of the environmental issues we have in the Pacific Northwest and that Aqua-Yield® nanoliquid technology products are part of the solution.”

Aqua-Yield® appreciates their continued partnership with Skagit Farmers Supply.
