Calcium sprayed helps keep the deficiencies away

Studies for years have shown the importance of calcium (Ca) in a quality apple harvest. Increasing calcium throughout the season can combat cork spot (early season), bitter pit (late season), and senescent breakdown (storage). Larger fruit is much more marketable, which also means decreased calcium content. Calcium content is directly related to senescent breakdown during storage.

WSU Tree Fruit states, “Good management should always be systems-based starting with adequate supplies in the soil, good tree and root health, sufficient water to move calcium into the plant and appropriate crop load management.” NanoCalSi   is a calcium and silicate accelerator offering critical nutrition during the early fruit development through harvest. NanoCalSi    can also be blended with NanoPro  ® to enhance plant uptake of other specialty and crop protection products.

Our recommendation for a specific grower may change based on in-season tissue testing. NanoCalSi can be tank mixed at a general rate of 2-6 oz with many other nutritional and crop protection products.

Always perform a jar test to confirm compatibility of products before mixing. Please see an agronomist or Aqua-Yield representative for more specific recommendations.

An Aqua-Yield ® customer in New York State reported 10-25% less bitter pit (crop loss) using NanoCalSi in addition to his regular calcium program; the best he’s ever achieved.

• Improved quality and yield

• Lower senescent breakdown

• Boosts efficiency of products
