From 1999 until his passing in 2016, Jim Burnett's focus was in the natural soil amendment industry. In 2004, Jim founded Texas Earth with a vision of “healing the soils of the earth”. In 2013 his daughter, Sarah Burnett, became involved in every facet of the business, eventually becoming the owner of Texas Earth after her father's passing. Sarah’s continued goal is to carry on her father’s legacy by offering the best products and services to heal the soil through sustainable management and live microbial solutions.

Tracey Carillo, Aqua-Yield’s Regional Manager for Texas, initially contacted Sarah about Aqua-Yield® nanoliquid products, recognizing a great fit with her current product line. Jim Burnett had developed Bio Nectar, which has become Texas Earth’s premier liquid microbial product. Since then, Texas Earth has added Bio Nectar Dry, calcium, humates and other organically regenerative amendments to their product line. With soil balance being the ultimate focus for the company, Sarah pairs products that offer soil health, efficiency and affordability. Sarah states, “We can only sell so much with biologicals during the growing season. Commitment to soil and plant health is yearlong, so we wanted to add another layer to our lineup for added customer service and growth potential. The nanoparticle by Aqua-Yield® was a great option as it is symbiotic with biology and provides the customer with more options from fertilization to weed control."

It’s only been since May 2021 that Texas Earth has offered the Aqua-Yield® line of products for crop protection and liquid fertilizer enhancement, but the products have been flying out the door. NanoPro® works very well with their biological products, which ultimately helps with the delivery of the investment. Sarah is also a big promoter of NanoN+®, which helps improve nitrogen efficiency. “Nitrogen is becoming extremely expensive but with NanoN+® I can help growers save money when and where it really counts.”

Sarah and her team have a great partnership with their growers, and while Aqua-Yield® is still relatively new to an industry that’s inundated with new products, growers trust in the Texas Earth team to find the products that will best serve their needs. “Growers are cautiously interested in nanoliquid technology. The products are very versatile, so growers have been willing to try it out. Communication with them is key and that has already led to quite a few reorders”, Sarah states. The Texas Earth team has several trials that are currently being conducted on everything from cotton to sesame.

Sarah calls Texas Earth's partnership with Aqua-Yield a “winning team” and stressed the importance of education, availability, and support. “Tracey and Jim (VP, Sales) have been great partners in our journey and we have been successful because of the support we have received at all levels of Aqua-Yield. Tracey lives 2 hours away but is always available to answer questions and help call on customers. It’s been a blessing to us.”
